Dunaway Gardens

So, I had a site visit today to Dunaway Gardens, a beautiful hidden treasure of floral and rock gardens near Newnan. It was once the site of a theatre camp for producers, directors and performers in the 20s, 30s and 40s. Originally a cotton plantation, Hetty Jane Dunaway created the theatrical training center which had it's heyday with vaudeville. Somehow this beautiful place was allowed to fall into a deteriorated state and was covered up with kudzu and vines for almost 50 years. In 2000, the new owner began to uncover it's secrets and now it has been transformed into a beautiful wedding and event venue. There are several amphitheater sites, extensive stonework walls, patios, ponds, wetlands and waterfalls. And of course, lots of flowers. I had a nice time with the camera.

Patio Party at The Solarium

The 8th Annual Patio Party for The Solarium was Sunday, June 7th. I am a huge supporter of that venue as it is just around the corner from my studio in Oakhurst, as well as a great place for a reception or wedding. I provided a few table centerpieces to complement their yellow/black and bird accent decor. Sweet!

Delin-Horowitz wedding at The Park Tavern

Well, I have to say that May was a blur! Very busy month for bloom floral design. It ended with Ashley's wedding at The Park Tavern on Sunday, the 31st. Hot pink, apple green and white was her request as well as "simple, different and fresh". Here's a sneak peak...

The chuppah was constructed of birch poles in hammered metal containers. In the meadow, with the willow trees as a backdrop, it looked perfect.

Can't get any more apple green than green apples!

We also did a few centerpieces with limes.

Paper cones filled with flowers welcomed the guests to the Tavern as well as lined the aisle leading to the chuppah.
The day was sunny and breezy - outside wedding nirvana.
